Regis John Schuchert

Regis "Rege" John Schuchert, affectionately known to many as the “Man with the Plan,” passed away surrounded by the love of his family after a courageous battle, Saturday June 13, 2026. He was born April 4, 1955 in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, and proudly called North Huntingdon home for the past 50 years. Regis shared a remarkable love story with his wife of 50 years, Terry Schuchert. Their journey began when they met in the eighth grade at the age of 13, and together they built a life rooted in faith, devotion, friendship, and family. He was a loving and dedicated father to his three children: Jody Belak (Justin), Todd Schuchert (Season), and Scott Schuchert (Caitlin). Nothing brought him greater joy than being a grandfather to Gabriel Schuchert, Wyatt Schuchert, Vincenza Schuchert, Scarlett Schuchert, Stella Schuchert, Jase Belak, and Jessa Belak. His grandchildren were amongst his greatest blessings, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Regis was preceded in death by his father, Robert Schuchert. His sister in laws, Leah Masar and Heidi Overmier. And his nephew, Ian Overmier. He is survived by his mother, Loretta Schuchert, who recently celebrated her 105th birthday. He is also survived by his siblings, Bob Schuchert (Nancy), Ron Schuchert (Kathleen), Carolyn Yeager (Jim), and Beverly Puglia (Joseph). As well as his sister-in-law, Connie Moneck and brother in law, James Stapf (Renee). In addition to many numerous beloved nieces and nephews, he will also be deeply missed by his best friend of 35 years, James Fedorka. A man of unwavering character, Regis dedicated his life to his family, friends, the Norwin soccer community, and countless others whose lives he touched. He was known for his leadership, generosity, and ability to bring people together. Whether helping a friend, mentoring a young athlete, or simply sharing a conversation, Regis made everyone feel valued and important. He loved fishing, hunting, and creating unforgettable family memories at his cabin and on his boat. He lived enough adventures to last 10 lifetimes. He truly possessed a unique and beautiful perspective on life. When asked how he was doing, he would often say he was grateful for another day in paradise. He approached each day with optimism, gratitude, and an appreciation for simple blessings. Above all, Regis treated every person he met with a smile but also with sincere respect and kindness. In addition to his cherished roles as devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, he was also such a loyal friend, a widely respected mentor, and a true role model. His impact on others cannot be measured, and the stories, lessons, and memories he leaves behind will continue to inspire family and friends for generations to come.To those who knew and loved him, Regis John Schuchert was the complete man. His legacy will live on in the hearts of so many.
