Patricia E. (Leach) Davis

It is with great sadness that the family of Patricia E. (Leach) Davis, age 88 of Greensburg, announces her passing on October 15, 2024. This sadness is tempered by the joy in knowing that she is in peace and has received her heavenly reward, and is now reunited with beloved family members that have preceded her in death. She was blessed to have been born into the O’Brien clan in North Braddock on December 22, 1935, to Michael E. and Elizabeth (Yussin) O’Brien. Pat, Patty, Patsy, was happily raised on Foster Road in North Versailles, with older brother Dennis and younger sister Noreen, when North Versailles was still rural, raising chickens, ducks, and goats, and growing a huge garden. She was a beautiful young woman. She graduated from Wilmerding High School in 1953, and was voted the best secretary by her class. Upon graduation she worked as a secretary for the Air Brake, then other businesses throughout her life, and she always displayed a strong work ethic, was intelligent, meticulous, and well organized. She married, and had daughter Vicki in 1956 and Michael in 1957, both to whom she was extremely devoted and fiercely protective. She lived many years in North Huntingdon Township, in the “Larimer Mansion”, which she beautifully decorated, including painting every inch of the interior herself. At the same time, she was a working partner in creating a real estate business in Irwin. It would not have been successful without her. She was a soft-hearted woman, and would tear up at the drop of a hat. Typically Irish, she was gentle and easy-going, until something made her mad. She did not enjoy driving or long-distance travelling, never having flown on an airplane, and was most happy to just stay at home. She was gifted with the ability to be content with whatever circumstances life gave her. She enjoyed reading, home decorating, researching local history, restoring antique furniture, gardening, and sometimes just relaxing. She also took great joy in everything family related, including many laughter-filled family visits and get-togethers. She retired from the Social Security Administration in Greensburg. After retirement, she was blessed with a loving and happy marriage to Harold Davis of Verona, where she then resided for most of her later years. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Dennis and his wife Sue Ann, her husband Harold, and her daughter Vicki, all beloved and sorely missed. She is survived by, and will always be fondly remembered with a smile, by her loving sister Noreen Watkins and husband Jack, son Michael Leach and wife Sheri, grandchildren Mateo, Christion, and Nora Leach, granddaughter Jamie (Davis) Rhoades, great-granddaughters Charlee Rhoades and Mia Cline, great-grandson Trey Leach, son-in-law Jim Davis, son-in-law Gary Davis and his wife Lisa, along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Family and friends will be received from 12 to 3 p.m. Saturday, October 19, at WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 521 Main St., Irwin, 724-863-1200, followed by a memorial service in the funeral home at 3 p.m. Interment will be in Westmoreland County Memorial Park.
