Lucille R. Mariana

Lucille R. (Raspotnik) Mariana, 91, of Manor, passed in her sleep September 3, 2026. She has now been reunited with her husband of 64 years, William E. Mariana who preceded her in death on Oct. 25, 2021. She was born February 11, 1935, in Westmoreland City, a daughter of the late Rudolph J. and Anna (Koracin) Raspotnik. She graduated top of her class from North Huntingdon High School in 1953 and described by her classmates as “Small, Intelligent bundle….chock full of energy”. She remained the same busy energizer bunny throughout her lifetime. Upon graduation she attended University of Pittsburgh, (Main Campus) and worked in the lab at the Westinghouse MICA Plant in North Huntingdon, Pa., until she married William Mariana in 1957, and moved to Las Vegas, Nev. where Bill was stationed at Nellis AFB. She was later employed by ABCO, Per Se Technologies, and Keystone Tax office until her retirement at the age of 81. Lucille was very deeply grounded in her Christian faith, and a lifelong member of the United Church of Christ in Manor, where she taught Sunday, School, Bible School, sang in the choir, a participated fully to support any and all functions of the church. Lucille was extremely proud of her Slovenian Heritage, supporting the SNPJ, Polish Club, and Slovenian radio program. We grew up with the language, heritage, and polkas in our home via the radio or Bill playing his button box. They loved to travel with The Herminie Button Box Club, local bus tours and on family vacations. She was an excellent cook as well as an avid gardener. Her family was always her top priority, setting aside a career, to raise 2 daughters. She loved having family dinners together for any and every occasion throughout the year. Our running joke was “what time is dinner on Groundhog’s Day”? She is survived by her two daughters Lu Ann Sieber (Kurt) and Vicki Peyman (Scott); four grandchildren Duane Lang (Candace), Kristin Britz (James), Jessica Culp (Randall), and Tyler Peyman; and eight great grandchildren . We would like to thank Brookdale Memory Care Staff for her excellent care, as well as Lori and the Bridges staff for their care and compassion during the past few weeks.
