William Frederick Wahl Jr.

William Frederick Wahl Jr., born on February 13,1930 in Philadelphia, passed away on September 20, 2016 at 86 years of age. The only child of William Frederick Wahl and Hazel Field Wahl, he is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Nancy Stump Wahl, and his children Barbara (George) Dietz, Kim (Larry) Watson, Karen (Tom) Simpson and Rick (Sandy) Wahl. He had seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Bill grew up in Merchantville, NJ and graduated from Merchantville High School in 1948. He graduated from Albright College in 1952 with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. He immediately began his career at Westinghouse Electric Company in Pittsburgh, where he worked in various financial management positions until his retirement in 1990. Bill described his 25 years of retirement, when he and Nancy lived in Naples, FL and in Chokoloskee, FL, his home away from home, as a “life of paradise.” During those years, he and Nancy continued their lifelong passion for camping and world-wide travel. He loved to fish in the Ten Thousand Islands and to swim in the Gulf of Mexico. Bill made a friend wherever he went. In 2015, Nancy and Bill returned to North Huntingdon to live at Redstone Highlands Senior Living Community. There will be no visitation. The family will have a private service at Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading, at a later date. Arrangements handle by the William Snyder funeral Home, Inc., 521 Main Street, Irwin, 724-863-1200.
