Reginald “Sarge” Legge, age 95, of Irwin, passed away on Thursday, September, 21, 2017. He was born September 22, 1921 in Belfast, Ireland, a son of the late Walter and Caroline (Sturgeon) Legge. In the past, he regularly attended the Norwin Alliance Church in Irwin. He was an Army Air Corp veteran of World War II that went on to work in the printing industry before retiring. He was very proud of the time he spent teaching the skills associated with printing at the Westmoreland Career and Technology Center in New Stanton. He also served as the business agent and representative for the Allied Union for the Graphic Arts. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of over 65 years, Mildred (Stahl) Legge; grandson Patrick Mason; and brothers Walter and William James Legge. He is survived by his children Reginald W. (Doreen) Legge, Loretta (Mason) Hurst, Clinton A. (Lynn) Legge and Alice Novotny; grandchildren Brenda Harris, Noelle Christoff, Carrie Rae Mason, Walter Legge and Caroline Porter; 12 great grandchildren; sisters Caroline Dewez and Thelma Gates; and brother Frank Legge. Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the William Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., 521 Main Street, Irwin, 724-863-1200. Everyone will meet at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Norwin Alliance Church in Irwin for a funeral service with Pastor Robert Daniels officiating.
