Mary Catherine (Watherwax) Hurst

Mary Catherine Watherwax Hurst, 90, of North Huntingdon, died Wednesday September 2, 2015. She was born September 9, 1924 in Chattanooga, TN, the daughter of the late Arthur and Della Holbert Watherwax and was also preceded in death by her husband Thomas Hurst Jr.; sons, Richard T. and Jeffrey Hurst; and a brother Arthur W. Watherwax. Mary Catherine was a former employee of G.C. Murphy Co., the Wagon Wheel Restaurant and had previously owned a floral shop in West Hempfield. She was a member of West Hempfield Presbyterian Church, card club and the charity circle. She is survived by her brother Richard Watherwax of Florida; nieces and nephews; also her good friend and neighbor Joe Spinogatti. At Mary Catherine’s request there will be no viewing. A memorial service with Rev. Peggy Sharron officiating will be held Sunday at 12:15 p.m. following the regular worship service at West Hempfield Presbyterian Church, 8 West Hempfield Dr., Irwin, PA 15642.
