Marjorie "Margie" Jean (McCall) Stright

September 5, 1928 - March 24, 2022

Marjorie “Margie” Jean (McCall) Stright, age 93, of Carlisle, formerly of North Huntingdon, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022. She was born September 5, 1928 in Wilkinsburg, the daughter of the late Everett and Lucretia McCall of Ardara. She was a long-time member of the St. John’s United Church of Christ in Larimer where she had served as an elder, deacon, head of the women’s church group and named a “Saint of St John’s UCC”. She worked in the nursery at Jeannette Hospital as an LPN for 7 years and then received her RN nursing degree from the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing where she worked for the next 25 years as the Head Nurse of Intensive Care and later as a Cleveland Clinic certified Enterostomal/Bedsore Therapist. She greatly loved her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, church and her many friends and was always ready to help others in need. She and her husband, Jack, really enjoyed the summers they spent together in their retirement at their cottage on Canadohta Lake near Union city, PA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John W. “Jack” Stright, daughter Karen Watson; and brother Everett “Mac” McCall. She is survived by her children John (Mary) Stright of Warrenton, Virginia and Anne (Charles) Agnew of Boiling Springs; son-in-law Glenn Watson of Thurmout, Maryland; grandchildren Kara (Dennis) Day, Jennifer (Bryan) Pizzillo, Jahme (Darin) McMillen, Sarah (Fiancé Steve Derrick) Agnew, Charlie Agnew, Jeana Stright, Ashley Stright and Aimee Stright; great grandchildren Matthew Day, James Day, Vada Day, Maren McMillen, Emma McMillen and Evette Agnew. Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the William Snyder Funeral Home, 521 Main Street, Irwin, 724-863-1200. Everyone is invited to a funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday at the St. John’s United Church of Christ in Larimer with Rev. Dr. Judith E. Tobias officiating. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery in Irwin. Memorial contributions can be made to the St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1230 Brownstown Road, Larimer, PA 15647.
