Margaret J. "Margie" Carolan Blasko Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Margaret J. “Margie” (Carolan) Blasko, 89, a resident of New Haven Court at Linwood, Rm Q201, died there Sunday September 12, 2021. She was born January 2, 1932 in Greensburg, a daughter of the late John F. and Mary D. (Poundstone) Carolan. Margie was a lifetime resident of North Huntingdon and a member of the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Irwin. She was a former Girl Scout leader and volunteered for Pennsylvania ARC and the former Jeannette District Memorial Hospital. She was also a school crossing guard for Norwin School District. She was extremely proud of her Irish heritage and her hometown of Irwin. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her step mother Frances Miller Carolan, her husband George W. Blasko, a brother John F. Carolan Jr., sister-in-law Jackie Carolan and brother-in-law Ron Wingert. She is survived by her children Gary Blasko of Jeannette, Donna L. (Dr. Peter) Jacobson of Somerset, and Kathy K. (Andrew) Meister of Turtle Creek; her grandchildren Carlton, Michael, and Kristi; 3 great grandchildren; a sister Mary Ann Wingert of Irwin; and several in-laws, nieces and nephews. Due to the covid pandemic there will be no viewing or services. A memorial gathering will be held at a later date. Interment will be in Union Cemetery. The family would like to extend grateful thanks to the nurses, caregivers, and staff of New Haven Court and ViaQuest Hospice for all the kind and compassionate care.
