Josephine "JoAnn" Porco

January 13, 1936 - December 20, 2020

Josephine (JoAnn) Porco, 84 of North Huntingdon, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Forbes Regional Hospital. Born January 13, 1936, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late James and Josephine (Taormina) DeFilippo. She was the beloved wife of the late, Frank M. Porco, Sr. In her early years, she worked in the office of the family business, Scozio’s Supermarkets. She spent most of her days doing what she loved best, raising three children, and being involved in the lives of her multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren. JoAnn was a true matriarch for her family. She loved to welcome everyone into her home, where she would cook them a delicious Italian meal, and treat them like gold. She taught her family many traditions that they will continue to pass down to future generations. The brightest lights in her senior years, were her beautiful great grandbabies. She was so very proud of all of them. She will be deeply missed by all the lives she touched, including her countless friends, and large extended family. She is survived by her children Louann (Porco) Weber and husband, Tom of North Huntingdon, Frank M. Porco, Jr. and wife, Sheryl of Hempfield Township, and Michelle (Porco) Mozingo and husband, Mark of Hampstead, N.C.; 13 grandchildren, Amanda Carpenter and husband, Aaron, Nichole Peklansky and husband, Nick, Jennifer Troiani and husband, Nick, Lindsay Hermann and husband, James, Tiffany Travis and husband, Wayne, Anthony Gaudio and wife, Kelli, Elizabeth Fogle and husband, Jason, Michael Weber and wife, Kristin, Dominic Gaudio, Madison Mozingo, Sergio Gaudio, Franco Gaudio, and Marco Mozingo; 15 great-grandchildren, Levi, Samuel, Joselyn, Jacob, Kayleigh, Nico, Dante, Steele, Mia, Giuliana, Daniela, Scarlett, Savannah, John, and Crew. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her beloved husband Frank on February 1, 2009, and three siblings, Joseph DeFilippo, James DeFilippo, and Rose Corso. A Blessing Service will be held Monday December 28 at 9:30 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Irwin, with Father John Moineau officiating. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, North Huntingdon. The William Snyder Funeral Home, Irwin, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers a contribution can be made to Susan G.
