Joseph William Gulaskey III, age 84 of North Huntingdon, passed away on September 22, 2021. Beloved husband of Patricia L (McGuire) Gulaskey for 62 years; loving father of Joseph W. Gulaskey IV and wife Lori Dee Gulaskey of Murrysville and Ronald G. Gulaskey and his wife Karen Smith Gulaskey of Miami, Florida; cherished Grandfather of Jodee (Graham) Stevens, Joseph (Elizabeth) Gulaskey V, Chloe Gulaskey, Emma Gulaskey and step-grandfather to Kevin (Kristin) Adipotti; great-grandfather of Joey Gulaskey VI, Jacob Gulaskey, Elliott Stevens and Teddy Stevens; greatly loved by nephews Larry (Louann) Wilkie and Timothy (Kelly Brennan) Wilkie. He was blessed with a close friend for over 70 years, George (Janet) Fulmer. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Ann (Nagy) Gulaskey and his sister, Joann Wilkie. Joe graduated from McKeesport High School in 1955 and two years later met the love of his life, Patricia McGuire. They were married in April of 1959 and just celebrated 62 years together. After his two sons were born, Joe went to night school at Duquesne University where he received his degree in Accounting in 1971. Joe will always be remembered for his quick wit and smile that shone brightest when with his grandchildren and his great-grandsons. Joe worked his entire career of over 39 years at Westinghouse Electric Corp, Nuclear Division in Monroeville. He along with four coworkers invented a patent together containing radiation to a minimal level in retubing a steam generator. He served many years as a Boy Scout Scoutmaster and was an usher at Immaculate Conception in Irwin for many years before joining St. Elizabeth Ann Seton of North Huntingdon. He served on the Norwin School District Board of Education and volunteered at a local food bank and at the Norwin Public Library after his retirement. The family wishes to acknowledge the excellent care that Joe received during the past few months at Forbes Regional Hospital, New Haven at Linwood, and Promise Hospice. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon Monday, Sept. 27, at the William Snyder Funeral Home, 521 Main Street, Irwin. A Blessing Service will follow in the funeral home at noon. Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a contribution can be made to the Dementia Society of America.
