John Palicka Jr., 92, of North Huntingdon, passed away Saturday October 23, 2021. He was born March 21, 1929 in Westmoreland City, a son of the late John and Verna (Martincheck) Palicka Sr. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters LaVerne Johnston and Marie Hanscak. He was a retired welder for General Motors, Fisher Body Plant, Dravosburg. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Irwin, and was a Navy veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of American Legion, Post 359, Irwin, a life member of the Westmoreland City Volunteer Fire Department, a member of St. Joseph Polish Club, and the APA. He participated in the Senior Olympics winning medals in Pool and Shuffleboard. He was a big Pitt fan and a member of the Golden Panthers. He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Veronica (Markovich) Palicka; his children John A. (Tracey) Palicka of Greensburg and Ronald (Michelle) Palicka of Harrison City; his grandson John J. Palicka; his step grandchildren Bill Grimenstein, Dominic, Gavin, Olivia, Amber, Tayler, and Kayla; step greatgrandchildren; his sister Arline Miller of Grapeville; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christina Burial will be celebrated at 1 P.M. Those attending please go directly to Immaculate Conception Church. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery.
