Evelyn Mae (Lyons) Milicki

April 28, 1926 - January 18, 2022

Evelyn Mae (Lyons) Milicki, 95, of Irwin, died Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at home. She was born April 28, 1926 in Sewickley Township, a daughter of the late John Thomas and Eva M. (Stewart) Lyons. She was a graduate of Sewickley High School, class of 1943, and worked at the Federal Supply Company Store, doing housework and painting rooms. She was a former member of Victory Primitive Methodist Church for 50 years serving as treasurer for over 20 years and also served as a trustee and choir member. She also taught Sunday school for over 60 years and was the primary Sunday school superintendent. She volunteered at Mt. Vernon Assisted Living for 28 years with crafting and sing-a-long. She was the leader of Pleasant Ridge Homemakers for 15 years and enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening and sewing. She spent 20 years in Girl Scouting as a committee person, assistant scout leader, neighborhood chairman, district chairman, and board member. She was currently attending Norwin Alliance Church, North Huntingdon. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years August “Al” Milicki, a granddaughter Sheri Liane Nelson, and siblings Ada Balogh, Lois Schluntz, Virginia Luke, and John S. Lyons. She is survived by her children Lillian (the late Judd) Schmidt of North Huntingdon, Terry Milicki of Irwin, and Lori (Jim) Nelson of Rillton; her grandchildren Jennifer Schmidt, Albert (Brittany) Schmidt, Scott (Deanna) Milicki, Ashley (Joe) Clark, Carrie (Chris) Stelma, and Stacy (Ed) Radecki; great grandchildren Damon, Madison, and Jaden Gongaware, August, Allison, and Asher Radecki, Ellarae, Ethan, and Evelene Stelma, Bristol Milicki, A.J. and Alex Schmidt and Makenzie Clark; a sister Mary Jayne Davis of Cyprus, TX; sister-in-law Mary Lou Lyons of West Newton; also nieces and nephews. A private funeral service will be held at Norwin Alliance Church. She will be interred next to her husband at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. In lieu of flowers a contribution can be made to the Salvation Army, Light of Life Ministries, or the American Bible Society. The William Snyder Funeral Home, Irwin, is in charge of arrangements.
