Elizabeth J. Okert, 93, of North Versailles, died Thursday, June 2, 2022. She was born February 28, 1929 in Braddock, a daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Pernick) Heininger and was also preceded in death by her husband Louis S. Okert, a son David A. Okert, daughter in law Dianne Okert, son in law Michael Clowes, and brothers Robert and Raymond Heininger. She was a member of Mary Mother of God Parish, St. Robert Bellarmine Church, East McKeesport, where she served as a greeter. She was an avid bowler and a volunteer for Meals-On-Wheels. She is survived by her children Laurie J. (Cornell) Franz of Ardara, Frank L. (Larissa) Okert of Liberty Borough, Elizabeth A. Clowes of Strasburg, VA, Louis G. Okert of North Versailles, and Patrick D. (Sherrie) Okert of Latrobe; 12 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; a sister Shirley Schmidt of Peabody, MA; also nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Forgie-Snyder Funeral Home, 1032 Broadway Ave., East McKeesport, 412-823-8083. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Noon Thursday in St. Robert Bellarmine Church. Interment will follow in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park.
