Elizabeth "Betty" Rose (Churey) Kopas

April 11, 1936 - April 8, 2022

Elizabeth “Betty” Rose (Churey) Kopas, 85, of Harrison City, formerly of Brockway, passed away Friday, April 8, 2022. She was born April 11, 1936 in Uniontown, a daughter of the late John and Catherine (Janosik) Churey and was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Frank Albert Kopas, her loving daughter Susan Lippincott; sisters Erma Halasz and Mary Arendas; brothers Joseph, John, and Richard Churey. Betty was a member of St. Barbara Parish, and former member of St. Tobias. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and baking traditional Slovak foods and listening to Polka music. She cared about her family and friends, calling loved ones daily to talk. She is survived by her son Frank Andrew Kopas of Harrison City, her daughter Beth Ann Patterson of Irwin, and son in-law Richard Lippincott of North Carolina; her beloved grandchildren Olivia Lippincott, Ryan Patterson, Niki (Steve) Fulton, Alex Lippincott, and Rachel Patterson; siblings Patricia “Becky” Cehula, Roseann McSheffery, and Charles Churey, and numerous nieces and nephews. Everyone is invited at 11a.m. Wednesday April 13th to the mausoleum chapel at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in North Versailles for a committal service. Arrangements are entrusted to the Forgie-Snyder Funeral Home, 1032 Broadway Avenue, East McKeesport, 412-823-8083.
